We have our own Monsterlight product range to suit the harsh Australian for mobile ANPR use.
They are Waterproof dustproof and super tuff with Powers from one watt to 300W and ranges to 1km's
Most cameras integrated IR systems only go about 10m distance creating a tunnel effect.
With a ZMX-Monsterlight unit the whole area will be illuminated eliminating any blind spots in your perimeter.
 
           

The range of these units is highly dependant on the type of sensor you are using CCD CMOS or NVG all will have different sensitivities. We base our ranges on a Sony DN camera with IR cut.
An IR cut filter camera or NVG night vision goggles are the preferred options.
